Gay: A person attracted to the same gender; used as an umbrella term for most queer people

Gender expression*: How a person dresses to reflect their gender. This can describe how a person dresses, acts or carries themselves. It does not always correlated to their gender identity nor does it always follow certain gender roles.

Gender Identity*: How a person identifies regarding gender. This is completely different to a person’s sexual orientation as gender doesn't define who a person is attracted to.

Gender Neutral: Describes a person that does not conform to any gender. Pronouns are most commonly they and them. Can also describe facilities that any gender can use, such as gender neutral bathrooms.

Gender Non-Conforming (GNC): A person who does not conform to cultural and societal expectations about what is appropriate for their gender

Gender Queer: Describes a person that does not conform to the binary. They can identify with both genders, none or a mixture.

Gender Fluid: Describes a person who's gender is fluid, and changes from time to time depending on how feminine/masculine or non conforming they feel.
